The response time of TVS diode clamping action is effectively instantaneous (1 x 10-9 seconds bidirectional); therefore, they can protect integrated circuits, MOS devices, hybrids, and other voltage sensitive semiconductors and components. TVS diodes can also be used in series or parallel to increase the peak power ratings. 1.5KE6.8 thru 1.5KE440CA and 1N6267 thru 1N6303A TRANSZORB(R) Transient Voltage Suppressors (TA = 25C unless otherwise noted) Fig. 1 - Peak Pulse Power Rating Curve PPPM -- Peak Pulse Power (kW) 100 Peak Pulse Power (PPP) or Current (IPP) Derating in Percentage, % Ratings and Characteristic Curves Fig. 2 - Pulse Derating Curve 100 Non-repetitive Pulse Waveform shown in Fig. 3 TA = 25C 10 1.0 0.1 0.1 s 1.0ms 10 s 100 s 1.0 s td -- Pulse Width (sec.) 10ms 75 50 25 0 0 Fig. 3 - Pulse Waveform tr = 10sec.
